21 Fashion trends for 2021
2020 has been a crazy year that has left some people with a lot more free time than normal to think about what they want to wear and how to accessorize. This has led to so many new fashion trends this year, especially during the beginning of the pandemic. As we head into 2021, I wanted to share some of the best trends of this past year! Some of the trends this year include:
1. Mom jeans. Mom jeans are high waisted jeans that have a looser fit on your legs. They can be super cute if they are styled the way that you like (just like any trend or outfit.). I like wearing jeans with this fit with either a cute crop top or tight body suit.
2. Oversized sweatshirts are also a hit right now. You can buy these sweatshirts from many big companies such as Bloomingdale’s, Revolve, Intermix, Forever 21, Pacsun, and Urban Outfitters. These retail companies sell clothing from many different clothing brands so it makes it easy to find brands you like most. My favorite’s are AQUA and Splendid. I love wearing it to bed in the wintertime.
3. Tie Dye: We can’t call it a comeback because it never left, but tie dye is the new pink. I like to pair tie dye with a black or white top or bottom.
4. Cropped cardigans are so cute with jeans, egging, or skirts. If you are petite then Brandy Melville is a great brand for you. However, many other brands and companies sell them.
5. 90’s style came back this year with cargo pants, slip dresses, flannels and combat boots - and all of these trends are so easy to make outfits with! For example, you can pair cargo pants with a cute crop top or bodysuits.
6. Leather pants, jackets, and shoes are very popular right now. You can wear these however you would like to.
7. Platform sneakers and Combat boots are also super cute shoes that look good depending on what you are wearing them with.
8. Layering shirts is also popular right now. For example, I have seen people wearing oversized button down shirts with sweaters or sweater vests over it.
9. Some people are wearing clothing trends from Y2K/2000s that look really fun if you’re into that kind of style! For example, velvet tracksuits, bucket hats, and plaid skirts with tank tops are in right now.
10. Jordan 1 and Air force 1 sneakers are great sneakers that are very comfortable and look cute with almost anything. My favorite ways to wear these sneakers are with jeans or leggings.
11. Oversized Victorian Sleeves are very popular and you can dress them up or down spending on the occasion.
12. Bucket Hats are a cute accessory--I personally don’t wear bucket hats since I’m not a hat person, but I’ve seen people rock themit perfectly with sweaters, skirts, and on the beach.
13. Rectangular Glasses are also accessories that you can wear if you want to add something exciting to your outfit.
14. Denim Jackets are cute to throw on over an outfit if you are going somewhere and need a little jacket to stay warm. Don’t hesitate to pair your favorite denim jacket with your favorite jeans (there’s a reason they call it the Canadian tuxedo-- you fancy!)
15. Animal pPrint clothing and accessories are great to wear if you don't want to wear something plain. This style is super cute as long as you don’t over do it with too much animal print. I would suggest wearing an animal print top or sweater with a neutral bottom or vice versa.
16. Layered jewelry is one of my personal favorite trends. I love to layer necklaces and bracelets.
17.Scrunchies are great because they won’t create a crease in your hair. Check out Kitsch or natural life for some cue scrunchies!
18. High Waisted leggings are great to wear if you are going to a workout class or just want to be comfy.
19. Clutch bags are great to wear when you are going out and only need to carry a few things with you.
20. Denim is always on a trend. Right now, high waisted jeans are super popular!.
21. Covid Masks are a necessity right now. You can find nice masks at Intermix or Bloomingdale’s
